In 1993, the University of Barcelona began offering "lifelong learning studies" with the aim of opening up a collaborative channel between the university, society and the business world that would make it possible to respond to the training needs of people throughout their lives.
That was the beginning of the University of Barcelona Institute for Lifelong Learning.
