Is there a careers service?

It offers individual and group counselling services, job placement, internships, speed networking, open days and activities for the development of key competencies. See here for more information.
Are there work placements?
Yes. The IL3-UB's Talent HUB service gives you access to extracurricular internships in leading companies in their sectors on a voluntary basis. From the first day of training, you will have the opportunity to develop skills that complement the knowledge acquired and that will prepare you to work in your chosen profession.
The curricular internships, for their part, give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the professional world and to apply and consolidate the skills and learning acquired throughout the training programme. In this case, the internships are academic activities of a fixed duration included in the study programme. And all the while, you will be able to count on comprehensive, personalised support from the IL3-UB Talent HUB, whose number-one goal is to promote and foster your professional growth.
Keep in mind that, for external academic work placements, you must have a Social Security affiliation number, which you can obtain from this link: Solicitar el Número de la Seguridad Social.
If you are a non-EU student, you must have a student visa to enter the Schengen area. Under current Spanish legislation, for a student to be included in the General Social Security Scheme, they must submit the necessary documentation.
What is the difference between an official master's degree and a university-certified degree?
The university or official master's degrees are endorsed by the university that awards them and are recognised by the state quality assurance agencies, and are a requirement to work in the civil service, as well as to go on to doctoral studies.
Lifelong learning master's degrees are high-level programmes aimed at professional specialisation and the acquisition of key competencies to respond to the needs of companies. In general, companies do not take into account whether a degree is official or university-certified when hiring a professional. They are more concerned with the prestige of the programme and the fact that it provides students with the knowledge and skills required for the profile they wish to fill.
The IL3-UB's lifelong learning master's degrees are approved by the Postgraduate Agency Executive Council by delegation of the Governing Council of the University of Barcelona, following the quality standards verification process laid out in the Internal Quality Assurance System (IQAS). They are also governed by the Regulations on lifelong learning approved by the Governing Council of the University of Barcelona on 1 March 2023. We take all the necessary steps to ensure training of the highest quality.
