Processing of personal data during videoconferences and online classes

Dear student / participant / tutor,

At the University of Barcelona Institute for Lifelong Learning (IL3-UB), we are committed to continuing the provision of our services through the use of new technologies. For this reason, we are using platforms such as Zoom and BB Collaborate to carry out our educational activities. IL3-UB recommends that all students, participants, and tutors review the privacy policies of these platforms.

Please be informed that sessions may be recorded and made available to all students or participants enrolled in the subject through the centre’s virtual learning environment. Access to these recordings will be restricted to enrolled users and will not be made available to third parties.

The recording or capturing of the session by users is strictly prohibited, as is its full or partial reproduction or distribution (e.g. via social media or content-sharing platforms), regardless of the device or method used. Any improper action constitutes a violation of applicable regulations and may lead to legal liability.

Moreover, in compliance with Article 29 of the GDPR, attendees undertake to protect and maintain the confidentiality of any personal data of other participants they may come into contact with, whether accidentally or incidentally, during the group sessions. These obligations remain in force even after the end of your relationship with the centre.

We would also like to remind you that your personal data will be processed for the purpose of delivering our services to you, based on a contractual relationship. This processing is also carried out in compliance with a mission carried out in the public interest (Organic Law 6/2001, of 21 December, on universities, and Law 1/2003, of 19 February, on Catalan universities). This data will not be disclosed to third parties and will be retained for the duration of our relationship. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection, as well as request the restriction of processing, object to the processing, or exercise your right to data portability in writing to dpd@il3.ub.edu. If you disagree with the way your data is being processed, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority: https://apdcat.gencat.cat/ca/inici.
